UPDATES FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA SYSTEM DECEMBER BOARD MEETING
Baton Rouge, LA – December 5, 20/news-and-events/december-2024-board-action/24 – The University of ɬֱ System Board of Supervisors met today to approve new academic programs, infrastructure updates, and faculty and staff initiatives, ensuring continued innovation and success across its nine universities and for over 83,000 students across the state.
Agenda highlights included the approval of a Bachelor of Science in Scientific Visual Communication at ɬֱ Tech University and advanced degrees in Social and Public Policy at the University of ɬֱ at Lafayette. The Board also authorized campus infrastructure projects and discussed updates to System-wide strategic initiatives.

The UL Systemannounced that registration is now open for the For Our Future Conference, which will take place March 27-28, 20/news-and-events/december-20/news-and-events/december-2024-board-action/24-board-action/25, with a Pre-Conference event on March 26. FACILITIES PLANNING COMMITTEE
ɬֱ Tech University: approval to amend its Five-Year Capital Outlay submission to increase funding for the Central Steam Generator – Switch Gear Project.
Nicholls State University: approval to name Room 142 in O. Cleveland Hill Hall, College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, the “H. Allen Thomason Independent Learning Lab.”
Nicholls State University: approval to name the three meeting and desk spaces in the Bayou Region Incubator.
University of ɬֱ at Lafayette: authorization to enter into an Act of Donation for the acquisition of property from the University of ɬֱ at Lafayette Foundation.
University of New Orleans: approval to enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement (“CEA”) and related transactional documents, including but not limited to a mortgage, with the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Inc. for the transfer of the Goldring Hall to the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Inc., on terms and conditions acceptable to the Board and for consideration of money and/or services with a stated value not being less than the appraised value. The CEA is in accordance with Article VII Section 14(C) of the ɬֱ Constitution and Act 485 of the 20/news-and-events/december-2024-board-action/24 Regular Session of the ɬֱ Legislature.
